CSIE had attended an inspirational day in London in April, organised by the Wates Family Enterprise Trust. The event brought together organisations from across the country to share learning, strengthen collaboration, and explore how we can work together to improve inclusive education.
Following this gathering, CSIE is proud to have joined the new Inclusive Education Community, brought together by the Wates Family Enterprise Trust and the Centre for Social Justice. This growing network brings together families, practitioners, funders, researchers, and policymakers, all committed to strengthening inclusive education. Through trust-based relationships and shared learning, members explore challenges, share inclusive approaches, and advocate for practical, sustainable change grounded in both evidence and lived experience.
We hope that this new community will spark bold and constructive conversations between professionals who may have different views about education for children and young people with labels SEND, yet share the same goal: better education for every child. By making sure the voices of people with lived experience of disability are at the heart of these negotiations, we can reimagine what education can be and build a shared vision for the future. We hope that in this way we can inspire change, influence policy and, most importantly, help create better opportunities and outcomes for disabled children.
